But the only and main problem that will come your way is that most of them do not allow any form of preview option and some of these effects are just rubbish and they do not provide good music at all.

Live Bands

If you want to enjoy having a good time with your mate, family or friends, then there are many several kinds of activities you can choose from. Many people love to travel in groups if they can get a hold of affordable airline tickets. Others love to take in all of the latest top box office movies. But, for many people, there is nothing better than attending live concerts.

Just about anyone who gets a great deal of enjoyment from listening to music or watching music videos will also enjoy attending live concerts put on by their favorite band, group or solo musical artist. Any time a group or an individual performs live, it is called a concert and in most cases the concert events are related to musical performances, and these performances are held in front of an audience of fans of the band or performer that’s on stage.

There are also many informal terms often used to refer to concerts. Some of the most typical terms which also refer to live musical performances are “gigs” and “shows.” A live concert is a great way for musicians to interact with their fans and to develop a following, if they’re trying to make a name for themselves.

Concerts can be held in a number of several kinds of settings and venues, ranging from very small and cozy places like pubs and coffee houses, to moderately sized nightclubs, private homes and concert halls, to enormous stadiums, arenas and amphitheaters. There are even any instances when live performances are held in barns or on open land, such as farms. The famous Woodstock event was held on a farm.

Many times, a performer prefers to hold their concert in older venues, such as historic theaters that have been renovated and transformed into wonderful stages for hosting live events. These older concert venues can add an additional sense of history and significance to their performance, as well as a touch of flair and showmanship that’s not always evident in the concert halls and auditoriums that are new.

Many people look forward to having the large festival concerts in their areas. A festival concert is great because they feature a number of different groups and acts that often perform a similar type of music. In any cases, these festival events include other types of entertainment as well and they can often run for several days, as opposed to a traditional concert which will only last a few hours.

There are several methods of learning about the concerts that are scheduled to come to your city. One of the ways to get the schedule is to simply check with the box office of the venue where most live performances are held. At the same time, you can always get on the world wide web these days and check for upcoming performances on the specialty websites that sell concert tickets that usually have comprehensive schedules.

Guitar Music

For most, the idea of playing a musical instrument can be baffling from the start. Especially if you have never played a musical instrument in your life! Even if you do not have musical instrument, you can always begin with voice. Piano is excellent for the beginner to start learning.

But what about those with just enough experience to go beyond and venture out into more extensive musical territory? What about the one who perhaps did not make it in musical theory class in college yet still has the desire to play music. Well, this information and the available book are good news for you!. What about the guitar player, the sax man, the drummer, the flautist, the harmonica, harp player, rhythm and bells! What about the one who desires to play music by ear for an adventure in self-expression?

You have come to the right place! Being a musician who plays by ear while next to a musician who reads and plays classical music adeptly can be intimidating. We’ve come to think of a person who plays by ear as a non-studious musician, when we might in fact be overlooking a creative genius in the making! Not to discredit those who have spent years in study, even earning Masters and PHDs. The ear is actually a musical instrument. Sound waves strike the tympanic membrane (eardrum) and cause it to vibrate. These vibrations are then passed through the tiny bones in the middle ear and on to the hearing nerve in the inner ear which sends them to the brain. So, listening, hearing or playing by ear should not be discounted.

Take an individual who has perhaps never played a musical instrument but listens to hours and hours of a wide variety of music. Now take another individual who has spent many hours, days and nights studying, learning and performing with ease from sheet music. If we were to put these two in a room, we would have one outstanding listener and one outstanding performer. But what if the listener was asked to perform without sheet music? Would the listener be able to perform at all?

Absolutely, simply from the acute hearing already developed in their brain. And what about the reader of music, who sees the notes and plays them to perfection, what would the reader do if asked to improvise a new song? Could they create one with ease or would it take a lot for them to creativity compose on the spot? It’s simply a question for you to think about. This leads us to further questions…

When we learn to talk, do we all begin with the same words? Of course we don’t. We learn most easily the words that have to do with our chief interests. Similarly, in playing by ear the student should follow his own inclinations rather than the order of this book. Does one really need a text to learn to speak a language that he hears several hours mostly all day? Grammar and a dictionary can be of great help. Does one really need a text to play music that he hears on the radio and on CDs several hours each day? This book will help. The ear player must practice, just as the note player must practice. But practicing does not need to be drudgery. The most effective practice means having a good time with the instrument each time.

Learning to play a musical instrument by ear does not have to be a drag! If you want to play it, play it! Don’t let an inability to read music keep you from enjoying your dream instrument. Pick it up and play today by ear!

Classic Ireland Folk Music and Pub Tour

Experience the magic and excitement of Ireland’s traditional folk music on a road trip that takes in the country’s best folk music venues and festivals. Your tour should begin in the capital of traditional music, Galway, which hosts regular live performances and the renowned Galway Sessions. Then it’s on to Dublin, where pubs present rousing traditional sessions, and the Temple Bar Trad entertains folk music fans each year. Travel to Bantry, the seaside town that hosts several wonderful folk music festivals, before experiencing the traditional music entertainment at Dingle’s friendly taverns. No folk music tour of Ireland would be complete without a stop-over at Ennis, a centre for folk music that offers star-studded musical celebrations.

Tuneful Ireland

Ireland is renowned as one of the most musical nations and the world. A variety of musical genres have been influenced by Irish folk music’s distinctive jigs, reels and lyrical ballads. Fast and furious, the upbeat fiddle-centred traditional dancing tunes are rousing and cheerful while the slower ballads are heartbreakingly beautiful. The Irish are known for their musical prowess and are more than willing to share it with visitors. Folk music is a fixture in nearly mostly all pub in the country, so pick up your pint, pull up a chair and lose yourself in the music.

Irish Folk Music at its Best

Galway is Ireland’s undisputed capital of folk music. It is one of the few mainly Irish-speaking regions of the country and its culture is deeply rooted in traditional elements. There are several stage shows centred on traditional folk music playing year round, and its pubs play host to the country’s best musicians.

The city’s major musical event is the Galway Sessions, which presents excellent Irish music in a friendly and relaxed environment. Different styles of traditional and folk music are performed at venues that range from the big stage shows of the Risn Dubh, to more intimate folk club gigs in the Crane Bar. Of course there is plenty of folk dancing along with the lively music, and major names in Irish music perform at the festival each year.

If you’re interested in hearing the best Irish folk music your next stop should be Dublin. The traditional pubs of Temple Bar are often vibrating with the sounds of the fiddles, drums and vocalists inside, and this ‘cultural quarter’ of Dublin is also home to the Temple Bar Trad, an annual celebration of traditional music and culture. Top Irish traditional musicians and some international performers captivate thousands of music fans mostly all year.

Besides the Temple Bar, there are countless other taverns scattered throughout Dublin, which host traditional folk music sessions. Tours are available of the best folk music Dublin has to offer and there are set shows operating year round. The Auld Dubliner, The Cobblestone and The Brazen Head are places to check out if you are interested in hearing some authentic Irish folk music.

If you travel to Northern Ireland, some wonderful traditional Irish folk music can be enjoyed in Belfast and Derry. Both Northern Ireland cities have many pubs with regular traditional sessions, ensuring a great evening out with the chance to absorb some Irish culture. Peadar O’Donnells in Derry, for instance, is a popular folk music venue, with wonderful traditional sessions held mostly all night.

Celebrating Irish Folk Music

Lively folk music festivals throughout Ireland give top musicians the opportunity to meet, compete and showcase their amazing talents.

Fleadh Cheoil na hireann, based in Tullamore near Birr, is the largest festival of Irish music, song and dance. The festival plays host to 230,000 people who gather from all over the globe to enjoy Irish culture. Thousands of musicians take part in this feast of Irish tradition, and the festival also involves a competitive aspect, as performers play to secure top honours.

Ennis has the honour of hosting two well-known folk music festivals each year. The Ennis Trad Festival is held during November, and features top quality Irish traditional music. The Fleadh Nua, held during May, has been entertaining and enthralling audiences for 35 years. The festival attracts about 50,000 patrons a year, who come to see the concerts, music, song, dance, workshops, street entertainment, pageants and parades, which celebrate everything Irish and traditional.

Fantastic folk music is presented at the Bandon Music Festival in Cork. This popular summer festival is hosted over a weekend in June and features the most creative performers in Ireland, ranging from new, unknown musicians to international stars.

The seaside town of Bantry hosts the Young Masters of Tradition Festival, where promising young folk musicians share their unique interpretations of traditional songs. The festival is held in Bantry House, an elegant backdrop to the superb young musicians’ work. Another more unusual festival is the World Bodhrn Championships, which is devoted to the art of playing the traditional Irish frame drum, the bodhrn. Held in Milltown, County Kerry, the event showcases the versatility of this unique instrument and features competitions to find the world’s top bodhrn player.

Many people these days are raised learning an instrument. So many people put their children in music lessons because it can really enrich their lives and provide a sense of accomplishment and good work ethics.

If you never had the chance as a child to experience being able to play and create music on your own, don’t worry because it is not too late. Everybody can and should learn!

Everybody loves music. It doesn’t matter what kind of music you prefer because there is any kind that you enjoy. It would be practically impossible to find somebody who doesn’t like the sound of music. It can relax you, it can fill you with energy, make you sad or make you feel inspired. Music is an extremely powerful thing.

This is why many people yearn to be able to play it themselves. Some people would love to be able to play but don’t believe that they would be able to. Many of these people believe that the ability to play an instrument and make music is something that only certain people can do; people who were born with a certain talent.

Well, this is not at all true. Anybody, absolutely anybody is able to learn how to play any instrument as long as they are willing to dedicate any time and energy to the process. This process can even be fun!

Once you have overcome the obstacle of thinking that you will not be able to do it, the next big question is , “What will I play?”. There are so many different instruments that it can be difficult to decide. One of the most desired instruments and a general most treasured is the piano.

This is partially because the piano can hold its own. You can play absolutely any song by the piano and make it sound lovely without needing backup instruments. There are many other instruments such as the drums where this is not the case. You cannot tell which song is being played when someone is only playing the drums can you? Of course not, because the drums never hold the melody.

The piano is an extremely popular instrument, and these days many people have them in their homes. If you are not one of those people but have decided that the piano is the instrument that you want to play, then don’t worry because there are options for you.

A piano can be quite the investment; however there are many people trying to get rid of one for reasons such as moving, (piano’s are large and not always moveable!), and are selling it for pennies. Look online and in second hand shops and you will have no problem finding yourself a beautiful piano without going broke.

If you have always wanted to learn how to play beautiful music with your own two hands then do it! Anybody is able to. Most it takes is the necessary motivation. Consider taking up the piano, the most beautiful of all instruments, and one of the most easy to find for a good price. You will be learning in no time!

Summer is the season of live concerts and big festivals, and in summer the chances of attending a concert or a music show multiply in comparison to other seasons. A concert or a music festival certainly are very fulfilling experiences, in many senses, for many music lovers, as they meet the desire of both listening to your favorite musicians playing live and of seeing how high-level music instruments and accessories, like se electronics microphones and krk monitors, work.

Attending a live concert means being in close contact with the music and the artists you’re used to listen to through CD or MP3 players, which are certainly very useful but which cannot convey the same energy and emotions that only a live show can convey, not even if they’re very sophisticated. A live concert, indeed, is not only made of music, and you do not listen to it just with your ear, you feel it with all of your senses, with your heart and mind. A live concert is so exciting first of all because it overcomes or at least minimizes distances between music and listeners, artists and spectators: when musicians are on stage the notes coming from their voices and instruments do not pass through any technological device and come to spectators with neither filters nor mediations, transported only by air. And this makes a huge difference! Certainly the sound quality that might be found in many tools that we use to listen to music might be higher than the quality of the music that you can listen to live, since acoustics is not always excellent and the buzz and other factors might undermine the music performance, but we can claim that this is what can make you appreciate a live concert more than the solitary listening to music through a CD or an MP3 player. Because the good features of a concert are also sweat, the weariness that comes from standing, jumping and dancing for hours, the chorus of voices that gets high when musicians start playing the most desirable songs and that almost covers the voice of the singer. However, a concert is not only made of sounds, sounds that are not always clear as they mingle with the voices and emotions of people, a concert is also made of the sight of the musicians that play their professional instruments and accessories on stage, like novation players or moog pedals, which most of us do not know and which help creating a special frame on stage, of the sight of the faces and eyes of the other spectators, in which you can almost recognize your emotions and feelings, the sight of the sea of hands that rise as if they were trying to grab the notes of the most fabulous songs also with fingers. A concert is hearing, sight and touch, in the sense of contact with the other spectators, which create a sort of unique thing hold together by music, a group of people that do not know each other but that are united by a typical passion and emotion. A concert fulfills our senses, but in a deeper way it is also able to convey feelings that few other things can convey to the same extent.

So get ready for the long summer of live concerts, because the season of music has finally started!

Dublin is often referred to as the party capital of Europe; full of pubs, clubs and Irishmen extolling the virtues of ‘the craic’. One thing you will find in abundance in the Irish capital is traditional folk music and you certainly will not have to travel very far around the streets of Dublin to find a place to have a jig and a swig!

Whelan’s in Camden Street, central Dublin is the place to visit for traditional and folk music. This exciting venue has had most of Ireland’s folk talent perform on its stage at any point. Just a stone’s throw away, also in Camden Street, is The Village another vibrant music venue, that’s well worth a visit.

Vicar Street – despite its confusing name – is not a street but a fabulous traditional music venue and can be found in Thomas Street in the heart of Dublin. This prestigious venue opened in 1998 promising to give Dublin a mid-size venue that would ‘punch above its weight’. It presents bands and solo artists that play all types and genres of music including traditional and folk, with big-name Irish bands such as the Dubliners appearing at this venue. Other artists that are slated to appear at Vicar Street include Dara O’Briain, Fionn Regan and Brendan Grace proving that it is living up to its promise to deliver quality acts.

Plus, you’ll find many more places where you can enjoy traditional folk music at most times of day or night. Bars, cafes and hotels in Dublin are all places where you can find Irish Folk Music being performed by eager and talented local musicians. Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy just about any other genre of music in Dublin that takes your fancy, from rock to classical. So, if you are planning to visit Dublin, or just toying with the idea, make sure that you are prepared for ‘the craic’!

And if you are in any doubt as to how much the Irish love their music, take note of the following example. The Irish Post Office has recently started selling a series of stamps that pay tribute to four iconic bands whose roots are based in traditional Irish folk music; The Chieftans, The Dubliners, the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, and Altan. The bands have been chosen because of the success they have had in taking traditional Irish folk music to the world. The inclusion of Tommy Makem is quite poignant as he recently passed away, and these stamps make a fitting tribute to his life-time contribution to making Irish music popular throughout the United States. They are sure to become collectors’ items, so be sure to pick any up when you visit Dublin.

An online marketing and technology solutions company is offering Internet users a new, simple way to listen to music on their computers.

Centale Inc. recently launched its Music on Demand program, a patent-pending algorithmic search online application that allows you to use Microsoft’s Windows Media Player as an instantaneous connection to search the Internet for millions of audio and video files and listen to or view them without having to take the time to download any files.

It has a high-tech look and performance and switch-skin technology that’ll appeal to the millions of people listening to and purchasing music via the Internet, said Patrick T. Parker, chief executive officer and chairman of the publicly traded company (OTC BB: CNTL).

The application has been approved by Microsoft as an official plug-in “power toy/utility” for the Windows Media Player.

“We believe our acceptance by Microsoft as an official plug-in validates our technology,” Parker said. “It will provide a substantial distribution channel for our Music on Demand and bring listening pleasure to millions of people worldwide. “

According to Nielsen//Net-

Ratings, more than 200 million Americans use the Internet. According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project, there are more than 500 million desktops in the U. S. Fifty-six percent of Internet users watch video clips or listen to audio clips; 34 percent listen to music at a Web site; and 25 percent download music files.

It is reported that 2. 2 million people subscribe to digital music services, compared to 1. 5 million estimated by IFPI’s Digital Music Report published in January. The industry expects this trend to continue as the crackdown on illegal digital music services increases.

In addition to its Music on Demand program, Centale’s product line includes the Catalyst EV direct-to-desktop marketing tool, customized browsers, instant messenger applications and screensavers.
