Is it time to boogie now that the wedding service has been finalized with the exchange of the vows? Damned right it is. So what are we waiting for – Music Maestro Please?

Choosing the Proper Wedding Music can be a difficult task. Trying to please all will be hard because not everyone shares the same taste in music thus leaving you in an awkward situation. A sure way of achieving satisfaction is to hire a disc jockey. His or her collection of musical compilations will no doubt be unlimited so I am pretty sure all your needs will be serviced in the way of great music. The good thing about opting for recorded music is the fact that the guests can request their favourite songs.

A good DJ with experience on weddings will entertain in between breaks. Explain in fine detail before hand what music you would like played on the turntable. How can you tell if the guests are enjoying themselves, well that is easy, watch their dance moves If the foot work is similar to that of Michael Flatly doing the river dance then you have chosen the proper wedding music.

Another option for entertainment is to have a live band perform at the wedding. Depending on your place of venue you may need permission for this so be sure to check this out in advance.

There are many types of music to choose for your wedding. It is crucial that you select the right melodies and tunes because without a doubt it is the music that sets the mood and creates the atmosphere.

Contemplate during your wedding service to have a choir sing hymns accompanied by the church organist this can add an essence of ease among the guests and for the bride and groom.

Before booking a live band for the wedding, ask if you can listen to their music first. Also have a chat about the emcee duties.
Keep the music on going at all times with a little background music in between intervals. The reason for this is no one loves the dreaded silence when the music ceases to play.
If you like jazz then play jazz. Rock and roll is a guarantee for a successful night. Remember rock around the clock – now that is proper wedding music for any reception. When have you never seen a foot tap to Bill Hayley and the comets

A way of knowing that you did the evening justice is when the guests sing at the top of their voices to an extent where they overpower the music. This is an additional bonus because you now have karaoke putting and end to your special wedding evening.

So you’ve exchanged vows, and have said your ‘I do’s, now it’s time to head out to the reception and party like you’ve never partied before. If you want live music playing in your reception, then you would want to hire a live band. But first, you must check with people that rent the venue where you’re going to hold your reception, to see what type of live music they allow. Some venues have stringent restrictions when it comes to live music.

The type of music that you choose to play in your wedding should be an expression of both the bride and groom’s personality, personal taste, and the overall theme of the wedding.

It’s very important to select the right music, because the music will become a pervading presence all through out the wedding, and right down to the reception. Music creates an atmosphere. It will set the mood of your wedding.

During the wedding itself, the choice of music mostly depends on the wedding. Most church ceremonies don’t allow secular music. They stick to more traditional, or religious music. A man and a woman duet is mostly sung during the ceremony. A church organist mostly provides the majority of the music.

For the reception, the bride and groom has a choice of recorded music, or live music. If you opt for recorded music, it would be best to hire the services of a DJ. The best thing about this, is you can request to have all of your favorite songs in the playlist. Ask your friends if they know any good DJs that are willing to play for wedding receptions. If they don’t know any, you could always just search the yellow pages, internet, or even contact your local radio station.

Once you’ve settled on a DJ, have a one-on-one discussion with the DJ. Just to explain what type of entertainment and mood you want to have during the reception. Also discuss, the selection of music that you have in mind. Ask if the DJ’s familiar with wedding protocol. If not, you might want to brief the DJ first about the sensibility of the event.

On the other hand, choosing live music offers you a choice of hiring a band, soloist, instrumentalists, jazz group, etc. It all depends on what kind of theme you have in mind for you wedding.

For more formal weddings, classical groups, piano soloists, and instrumentalists are more appropriate. It would not be a bad idea, to also consider the sensibilities of your guests, to ensure that everyone has a good time!

If you want to have a rocking good time for the reception of your wedding, then hiring a band is the way to go! The energy of a live band gets people going. There’s nothing else that spells a rocking good time better, than a rock and roll band.

Before hiring a band, ask them if you could listen to their music first. This will help you decide if that particular band is just right for you. Also discuss, if the band will do emcee duties, as well as provide the music.

It’s best to hire a band that has had previous experience with wedding receptions. This way, they’d know what to expect, and will be able to provide the proper entertainment that’s fitting for the occasion.

You always want to keep the music going, so include some background music even when the meals are being served, or when the bride and groom are doing their rounds of greeting, having their pictures taken, etc. This will also maintenance the atmosphere of the wedding all through out the reception. So choose wisely, because your choice of music can make or break this occasion!

A wedding band is a ring made of precious metal, worn on the ring finger to symbolize marriage. A wedding band is indicative of the fidelity of the spouse. It is usually worn on the left ring finger. It was a Greek belief that the vein in the left ring finger goes directly to the heart. The vein was named vena amori. However modern medicine has proven the belief incorrect. The custom of wearing a wedding band is European and has now spread widely across the world. However in Eastern Europe and any parts of Western Europe like the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany the wedding band is worn on the right hand ring finger. Some people wear wedding bands over the neck on a chain. Traditionally the wedding band is worn nearer to the base of the ring finger than the engagement band. Most of the times on the engagement band the spouse’s name is engraved after marriage and the engagement band changes status to become the wedding band. In traditional marriages it is the duty of the best man to take care of the wedding bands and produce them at the time of the ring giving and receiving ceremony. Often the ring bearer (usually a young boy related to the bride or groom) carries the wedding bands on special cushions or pillows.

The ring symbolizes the couple’s love for each other. Making overtures to a man or woman wearing a ring is frowned upon in society. The rings of men and women are little bit different in design. The bands of men are usually broader than the wedding bands of women. The usual thickness of the bands range from 2 mm to 10 mm. Generally more women wear wedding bands than men. Some people due to their occupations like police men, soldiers, electricians, actors etc do not generally wear wedding bands.

There are thousands of designs of wedding bands available in the market. Generally they are made of precious metals like gold (white gold & yellow gold), titanium, platinum, tungsten carbide, gun metal, stainless steel, nickel etc. Poisonous or corroding metals like aluminum, silver and brass are never used. However as per customs wedding bands can be made of any material. The designs available are domed bands, milgrain bands, two tone bands, flat bands, fancy bands, diamond bands, designer bands, engraved bands, knife edge bands, brushed center bands, plain flat bands, Celtic bands, Irish bands, antique designs, etc. Usually the wedding bands for couples are sold in pairs with matching designs. Sometimes the names of spouses are engraved on the wedding bands. The most common pattern is a plain gold band. It is easier to clean it and gives an elegant look.

Wedding bands are available in attractive designs, studded with gems, with bright polish etc. The gems are available in many shapes like round, marquise, heart, emerald, trillion, multi cut, pear, princess, oval etc. In France and French speaking countries generally the wedding bands are made of three interwoven rings. They represent love, faith and hope. The price of wedding bands range from below $50 to millions of dollars depending upon the type of band and gem.

Perhaps you’re a businessman who needs to stay in touch with you’re clients even if you’re traveling from one side of the world to another or maybe you’re just someone who wants to be updated of all the news and hips around. So, you’re looking for a perfect phone that suite your needs, are you not? But what type of frequency band will you consider?

In the US, GSM services use two frequency bands while there are also two different frequency bands that were used by them elsewhere in the world. Considering this dilemma, some of the notable mobile phone manufacturers like Nokia, Siemens, Ericsson and Motorola developed a phone that can work on all four frequency bands commonly called as quad-band phones.

So what about this frequency band? Let us try to understand more about it.

Cellular phones use radio waves to transmit conversations. These radio waves can be at different frequencies. Consider this interesting record of different frequencies used by different types of radio services.

GSM cell phones use frequencies within four different frequency bands.

•850 MHz (824. 2 – 848. 8 MHz Tx; 869. 2 – 893. 8 MHz Rx)

•900 MHz (880-2 – 914. 8 MHz Tx; 925. 2 – 959. 8 MHz Rx)

•1800 MHz (1710. 2 – 1784. 8 MHz Tx; 1805. 2 – 1879. 8 MHz Rx)

•1900 MHz (1850. 2 – 1909. 8 MHz Tx; 1930. 2 – 1989. 8 MHz Rx)

Although 850 and 900, 1800 and 1900 are seemingly close figures, a phone that works in one frequency band unfortunately can not work in the frequency band next to it unless added as a specific extra frequency band. To contrast, when you have your FM radio tuned to a radio station at 98. 1 MHz, you can obviously never hear what is happening on another radio station at 98. 3 MHz unless you retune your radio. You got it? This is actually how the phone frequency band works.

Formerly, the US only used 1900 MHz for its GSM cell phone service. But in the passing years, there has been a growing amount of GSM service on the 850 MHz band simply because this type of service is usually been used in rural areas, since it has better range than the 1900 MHz band. However, it was also been used in city areas especially when the cell phone company has spare frequencies unused in the 850 MHz band and no remaining frequencies to use in the 1900 MHz band.

On the other hand, when the US started to use GSM, a few other countries with very close links to the US chose to copy the US and use the same frequencies that US used. In fact, almost without exception, all international countries that use the non-US international frequency bands have 900 MHz service.

So which frequencies are needed when traveling internationally?

If you intend to use your phone only internationally, you need to decide if you’ll be using the phone in countries that use the international frequencies or in countries that use the US frequencies, or in both. Nevertheless, in all common bands, 900 MHz was used internationally and the 1800 MHz will only give expanded coverage in countries that also have 900 MHz.

However, if you intend to use your phone only in the US, you just need to get a dual band phone that has both 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. A single band phone with only 1900 MHz will give almost as good coverage anyway.

Summing up, if you intend to use your phone in both the US and internationally the best solution is to get a quad-band phone that will work on four bands which is the 850/900/1800/1900 MHz bands.

When you decide to marry, one of the most important decisions will be about your ring. Traditionally, gold, white gold, silver and platinum have been used in wedding bands. But today, the selection of metals is broader, reflecting the change in our tastes and lifestyle. Tungsten carbide is one of the new metals from which jewelry designers have begun to craft wedding band rings, offering a wide variety of styles and designs that fit every taste and budget.

What is Tungsten Carbide?

On its own, tungsten is a very hard and dense metal, with the highest melting point of all metals – 6,100 degrees Fahrenheit. Alone, tungsten is vulnerable to scratches and damage similar to any other metal, it gains its extreme hardness by being and a carbon alloy, transforming it into tungsten carbide, with a hardness between 8. 5 and 9. 5 on the Mohs hardness scale. The strength of tungsten carbide has made it widely used for decades in industrial applications – it is four times harder than titanium, twice as hard as steel and almost impossible to scratch. The resulting metal can be designed into wedding band rings that are both visually stunning to please the eye and durable enough to withstand everyday use. These rings can only be damaged through extreme measures, such as abrasion from diamonds or being struck with a hammer.

Choosing Your Tungsten Carbide Wedding Band Ring

Make sure you ask your jeweler which metal was used in the finishing or binding process. Many manufacturers of tungsten carbide wedding band rings use cobalt as a binder, mostly because it is cheaper to produce. The problem with cobalt is that it bonds with oils in the skin and leeches out of the ring resulting in oxidation. The oxidation appears similar to tarnished sliver, but cannot be removed by polishing or grinding. The better choice is nickel-binder tungsten carbide which is chemically inert, will not oxidize and because it is hypoallergenic, there is no danger of irritation to the skin. Be careful about dealing with a jeweler that doesn’t specify that their tungsten wedding bands are made with the nickel binder alloy. Many jewelry stores do not know which alloy they are selling, and if they don’t know, it is most likely cobalt alloy or pure tungsten, which lacks the hardness of tungsten carbide and are easily scratched.

Because of tungsten carbide’s extreme hardness, wedding bands made from this metal cannot be sized like gold, silver or platinum rings. When you are ready to purchase, make sure that you take extra care in determining the proper size. In regards to engraving a tungsten carbide ring, it is possible, but the results will be very faint and difficult to read.

Finally, since your tungsten carbide wedding band ring is not indestructible, it makes sense to get a warranty, especially against breakage. Under normal usage there should be little or no wear on both the polish and the textures of your tungsten carbide wedding band ring and you will never need to use your warranty.

Back in the days when kids made a lot of their toys, some devious little mind came up with a way to fire rubber bands off more than their own thumbs. Thus was born the rubber band gun. And so today, they are enjoying such a resurgence of popularity, that you can even buy guns carved from wood, that replicate actual weapons such as repeating rifles, pistols and more.

But for a simply weapon to give your friends a snapping good time, try this. Gather up a piece of wood, such as a short section of 1×2″ lumber, a wooden clothespin, some Crazy Glue, a nail and a hammer.

You’re going to need to glue the clothespin at the rear of the 1″ side, which should be on top. But first, take a nail no more than 2″ long, and 1/8″ thick, and cut the flat head off, and file it down. Mark on the piece of wood, where the end of the clothespin will be, and drive the nail into the wood, sharp end down, about 1/3″ from where the mark is. Leave about 3/4″ of the nail sticking up.

Now drill a hole through the end of the clothespin, with a bit that is slightly larger than the width of the nail. Make sure you drill through both sides of the pin. Apply glue to one narrow side of the clothespin, from the open end, down to the drilled hole. Don’t get glue in the hole. Now place the clothespin on the piece of 1×2″, making sure it’s got the nail fitted through the hole. You might need to try the fit, before applying the glue.

Cut a notch in the end of your wood, just below the top, so you can hook one end of the rubber band there. Now pull it back, and hook the other end over the protruding nail. To fire, just open the clothespin. There should be enough motion to allow the upper part of the pin, to push the rubber band off.

For more zing to your gun, cut a second shorter piece of wood and glue it underneath at a 90-degree angle, to approximate the shape of a pistol. Insert your nail and glue your clothespin to the back of the “grip”. This will make for a longer stretch to the band, and more snap when you fire.

Blue October is a rock band from Houston, Texas. The group was formed in 1996 by Justin Furstenfeld, the band’s lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Other members include: his brother Jeremy as the drummer, Ryan Delahoussaye playing multiple instruments, guitarist CB Hudson, and Matt Noveskey on bass. The group released their first album “The Answers,” in 1998 under the management of the Jusitn and Jeremy’s parents and was well received in their hometown of Houston.

One of my favorite bands of time is the Dave Matthews Band. They have a unique sound that is hard to compare with other acts. They are considered a jam band, but are quite different from other stereotypical jam bands such as Phish and the Grateful Dead. Each member of the band is a virtuoso on their instrument. However, two members shine above the rest of them. They are Carter Beauford (drums) and Leroi Moore (sax/wind instruments). These two gentlemen have perfected their given instruments.

If you are just getting into the Dave Matthews Band for the first time, I would suggest starting with their earlier material such as Under the Table and Dreaming or Crash. These are surely the place to fall in love with the band. If you’ve been into the band for a while and are looking for something different I would suggest any of their live concert albums. A must have for all fans is Live at Luther College. It is a duet album with Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. You’ll hear your favorite songs in a way you would never imagine.

I would also suggest going to a concert of the band as well. You will surely get your money’s worth. The band plays for over 2 hours and takes your favorite songs in a totally new direction. I have personally gone 10 times and thoroughly enjoyed each show that I have gone to.

The members of the Dave Matthews Band include Dave Matthews (guitar), Stefan Lesard (Bass), Leroi Moore (sax/other wind instruments), Boyd Tinsley (Violin), and Carter Beauford (Drums). Their albums include Under the Table and Dreaming, Crash, Before These Crowded Streets, Everyday, Busted Stuff and Stand Up. They have also released several live concert albums as well. There are just as many live albums as there are studio albums.

Women have often gotten a one word response to the age old question “honey, so what do YOU like in a wedding ring?” The casual response has been usually a grunt, a shrug of the shoulders, or maybe a two word answer like “something gold”. All you have to do is look around the internet these days and see how far the average men’s wedding band as come to see a simple answer could go sooo many different ways.

First and foremost men aren’t usually jumping for joy to get married. It’s true. Most settle on the fact that they’re getting married to someone out of obligation and loyalty. Yes, of course love plays a huge part, but if your man isn’t into jewelry, well, he’s not going to be very discriminative in the kind of ring he wears. . or will he?

Get his attention by leaving little hints around the house or apartment. Leave a piece of metal that looks like gold, or looks like aluminum. You are basically putting the thought in the back of his head to consider some kind of metal when he looks at it.

The next step is to show him how cool different wedding bands look like. The newest fad for wedding bands is Tungsten wedding bands, Titanium wedding bands, and the newish fad of using platinum (often times 2 tone) in wedding bands.

If you step into the mind of your guy, or actually ANY guy, wouldn’t you think that they’d like to wear something that was made of titanium? Absolutely. Something that appears to be indestructible or super strong (titanium) appeals to the innate little boy in every guy. The coolness factor has now been raised in the mind of your man once he starts to consider different metals AND actually cares enough to consider what type of band he’d like to wear.

Some guys are sucker for gold. You’ll usually get some kind of indication of what kind metal your man prefers by what he wears in his normal every day activities. Does he wear a necklace or any jewelry? What kind of metal are they? Does he wear a watch? Is it monocolor, two tone, or what? As I said before, you can usually tell what a man likes from what he is already wearing. But it doesn’t hurt to ask!

Keeping the rest of the marriage together now resides on both of you. You did your part with the wedding band.
