Downloading music is a process whereby music files are opened on the Internet and saved for future use. This has become one of the world’s greatest online pastimes during recent years, and the popularity of downloading music continues to grow.

Ironically, however, downloading music did not start off in the most positive light. As a matter of fact, it was considered quite illegal, and many file-sharing technologies, such as peer-to-peer networks, provided countless music to the public free of charge and without the permission of either the artists or the music copyright owners. One famous site known for this, Napster, was incited for breaking copyright laws and told to shut down. According to the Recording Industry Association of USA (RIAA), this practice was not only unlawful; it was hurting sales for the music industry–downloading music from the Internet exceedd sales of CDs and videos in some countries. Many lawsuits ensued, and yet other sites were ordered to shut down.

Several artists cried out at the practice of downloading music. They felt betrayed, since their hard-earned music was being passed along without profit and without their permission. They felt disrespected and ripped off!

Eventually, there was a solution that would keep downloading music an active pastime. Legal digital downloads became popular through iTunes in 2003, and downloading music from the Internet increased exponentially, setting new records in sales. One example of this is Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy, which landed a position at the top of the U. K. Singles Chart solely on the distribution of downloading music. Napster is back online, too.

Interestingly enough, many of the artists themselves got in on the online game of downloading music, and now lots of their music is available on their personal and commercial sites. These downloads, however, are either brief previews or low-quality sampling–enough for the artists to market their music to those who prefer downloading music, and also to make money online as well as through music outlets!

Downloading music, then, has been a rather shaky ordeal for many, but due to compromise and innovative technological advances, this practice is fortunate enough to continue for some time to come!

There is a saying that rock and roll stars live on the edge and drive in the fast lane. Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, and Michael Hutchence of INXS did just that. They were music icons who lived on the edge. Sad to say, their fame and fortune also led to their untimely deaths. What’s more alarming is these stars die a few years after achieving fame. News of rock stars and other music icons dying young is alarming, because their deaths are associated with substance overdose.

A recent study conducted in Liverpool John Moores University showed that 1,050 American and European artists or so-called “icons” died earlier than average people. Of the 100 stars that died from 1956 to 2005, majority of these American “music icons” died at the age of 42 on average, although those from Europe passed away at 35 years of age. The reason? Unhealthy lifestyle, improper diet, drug addiction, and alcohol and substance abuse. In addition, part of the dilemma is living with the stress and anxiety associated with fame.

According to the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, drug and alcohol are the primary causes of many deaths of music stars, which accounted for one in mostly all four deaths. Alcohol damages the body in many ways. It can affect the brain and can lead to poor coordination, faulty judgment, slowed reflexes, distorted vision, memory lapses, and blackouts. Alcohol can damage many organs in the body. It is absorbed directly in the bloodstream and raises the risk of acquiring life-threatening ailments like cancer. Extremely high doses of alcohol can even cause alcohol poisoning, coma, or even death.

It is a fact that many celebrities and music personalities are involved in the repeated and excessive use of drugs and substances. High doses of many illegal drugs can cause immediate life-threatening problems like heart attack, respiratory failure, and coma. The combination of drugs and alcohol are extremely dangerous. In addition, some drugs can have dangerous interactions with alcohol. The human body can only handle so many toxins at once, this is the reason why illegal drugs should not be taken with alcohol. There are times that drug can chemically interact with alcohol, when taken with alcohol it disperses faster in the bloodstream and take effect faster. These are the reasons why alcohol and drug overdose is one of the leading cause of death among music icons and many individuals.

The number of rock stars who died and are dying at a young age is cause of alarm for society because many artists are influential among children and young people. They want to be like them–the rock gods. The young people hero-worship them. They buy their albums, watch their concerts, and even try to dress like them. A lot young people want to be like rock stars. They want fame, money, and other expensive stuff. Young people of today want to be rock stars more than anything else. They want to sing loud songs, strum the guitars to produce loud music, and beat the drums real hard. The young people want to experience the euphoria that these rock icons claim they feel whenever they are on stage. Sad to say, all the fame, fortune, and money were not able to change the fact that many rock stars and music icons died early.

Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, and Michael Hutchence What went wrong? Were they overwhelmed by fame that they lost control of reality and turned to drugs and other banned substances? It is clear that these rock stars were not happy at all. Death in some ways make people more interesting and famous than they were still alive. However, dead rock stars are reminders of the pain and depression that may take place as side effects of fame.

Bo was nicknamed “Bogart” by his grandmother as a child and it was later shortened to “Bo. ” Bo first made a real mark in regards to music when at the age of 13, he won a local school competition. When Bo was a kid however, the family moved around the South frequently, they lived in Georgia , Alabama , and Florida ; including the metro area of Atlanta .

When Bice was 15 years old the family moved to England in 1990, as part of Bo’s father’s European assignment with Coca-Cola in London . Bo would have graduated from high school in 1994 but in fall of 1993 he dropped out of high school just before turning 18 to move back to Alabama , where he earned his GED and attended some classes at Calhoun Community College . It was around this time when Bo worked with some English alternative rock musicians and upon graduating Calhoun and spending a semester at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Bo turned into a professional musician and performed in shows all across the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe.

For the 2005 season, American Idol producers raised their required age limit from 16-26 to 16-28 and although Bo did not quite fit the Idol mold, he decided to try out. He was one of the oldest contestants to audition and participate on American Idol, as well as being the oldest contestants to have progressed the farthest in the singing competition. A southern rocker in musical approach and appearance, Bo did not fit into the normal American Idol mold but since he was so different he became a fan favorite. In addition to his rocker ways, his early performance of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post” drew raves from the judges and established him as one of their favorites in the competition.

In Alabama , May 24 was declared “Bo Bice Day” by Governor Bob Riley. In fact, Bo’s pride in being an Alabama native resulted in the adoption of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s hit “Sweet Home Alabama “as his “theme” during his run on American Idol.

On June 15, 2005, Bo married long-time girlfriend Caroline Fisher in Helena . After being signed to RCA Records, Bo’s first single was released June 21, 2005, and it was his version of “Inside Your Heaven”. The single debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and #1 on the Billboard Hot Single Sales chart. In late July 2005 it was certified Gold. The Bices’ first child, a son named Aidan Michael Bice, was born on September 24, 2005.

Bo’s solo debut album, The Real Thing, was released on December 13, 2005. It opened at #4. The Real Thing has the seventh-highest opening for a debut album by an American Idol finalist; it is also noteworthy that Bo Bice is one of several non-winners to achieve good success in record sales.

On September 12, 2006, Bo released a cover of The Chambers Brothers 1968 smash hit, “Time Has Come Today,” through various legal digital music download sites. The song, which does not appear on The Real Thing, is the theme song for a new Monopoly commercial. It has been rumored to be Bo’s new single and possibly a track on his second major album.

Bo Bice’s second album, to be released on indie label StratArt, is tentatively titled American Blood. The album’s release date has yet to be announced. Bo Bice will be going on a concert tour soon. Buying Bo Bice concert tickets from a ticket broker is recomended as his concert tickets will be going fast.

Models, Music Artist, Photographers and Entertainers

I am hoping you are creating online visibility strategies to help you increase your presence, gain a fan base, get work and eventually turn all these into revenue.

Back in the day it was very difficult to market people unless you had a big marketing budget. But now with the Internet you can market yourself to create revenue before you become a famous model, actress, musician, hip hop star, personality or fashion photographer
Many of you know me as Trent Partridge (Radar my basketball name) the photographer. But I have a dark side (Darth Vader) Trent the Internet Marketing Consultant. One tough task I have is getting words ranked in the top 20 in Google, Yahoo and MSN. Search Engine Optimization takes a lot of work because search engines are always changing their algorithms. But I do have over 5000 words ranked in the top 20 in the search engines. I also have had over a million screensavers downloaded(viral marketing) and handle $50,000 plus a month in pay per click advertising. Pay Per Clicks are the advertisement in text on the right side of the search engines. I am also completing a book called Internet Marketing for Models, Music Artist, Photographers and Entertainers.

I create long term Internet Marketing Solutions for companies and individuals.

I do get mad at my entertainment buddies who do not try to work their own website, MySpace or Yahoo Group. These 3 different type of website can create great opportunities.

First you have to recognize that you must gain a fan base. Do not have users come by your website and not try to grasp their email address in some capacity. Offer a newsletter, free exclusive pictures, screensavers, wallpapers, ringtones, memberships or an autographed picture giveaway.

Go to Walgreen’s or CVS and print a few pictures for under 30 cents. Then have a free autographed picture giveaway. For under 75 cents(mail) you can gain fans that can be worth way more than that in the long run. Big companies like Dell, Wal-Mart and Amazon use a cost per customer acquisition formula to figure the cost to gain a customer. We know that if you mail 3 autographed pictures to fans(future customers) at 75 cents you have the ability to have an incredible low low low customer acquisition cost.

Remember this formula Fan = Customer = Revenue. While the castings, touring and gigs are not happening and you are at home chilin jump on the net and get fans.

If you are model, music artist, photographer right now and are not planning to sell a calendar DVD, t-shirts, hats, autographed pictures, CDs, a CD of Pictures, ringtones etc. . then you need to rethink your strategy. These are very basic ways to earn income. I am not saying it will cover your mortgage, car payment and health Insurance, but any money helps even the richest man would say that.
I often trade services with entertainers to help them and myself create better product or content to sell.

Please use the Internet as a tool to gain customers. Do not put a website up and think that casting agents, A&Rs, directors and your friends come to it alone. Users love to see people who are talented and enjoy viewing beautiful models. Pictures. So take advantage of the looks or talent that your were born with to generate money.

Feel free to contact me at anytime. I am the man when it comes to marketing. I have bought to many programs and tested every theory, postulate and hypothesis in the online marketing field. Home karaoke systems have been around for at least a decade, but with “American Idol” consistently garnering record-breaking televisions ratings and shows like “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” and “The Singing Bee” trying to grab a piece of the action, it is no wonder that they’re enjoying a resurgence. Also with everyone wanting to become the next Taylor Hicks or Carrie Underwood, and even so-so singers getting their 15 minutes of fame, it is completely acceptable to sing your heart out in front of your friends or within the privacy of your own home.

Enter the home karaoke machine. Everyone from young children to those in middle age and beyond are picking up the microphone and crooning to their favorite tunes. When you’re in the market for a home karaoke music player, though, how do you know which to choose?

There are four main types of home karaoke music players. The first is the traditional singing machine that comes with a microphone and hooks up to your television. You insert a karaoke CD or cassette into the player and it displays the lyrics to the songs (and perhaps video) on your television. You sing along to the music using the microphone and hear the results through either the television speakers or through built-in speakers in the karaoke machine. This type of home karaoke music player is rather cumbersome and not very portable.

The second type of karaoke machine is a stand-alone model. It mainly has a small black and white screen (about five-and-a-half inches), speakers, and a microphone. It may also have a small video camera built in. Also with these home karaoke music players, you can read the lyrics on the small screen. If you hook it up to your television and VCR, you can use the video camera to superimpose an image of the person singing onto the screen and record their performance to tape. While this type of machine might be fun for parties, the small black and white screen is a major drawback. Another disadvantage of the traditional singing machines and the stand along models is that you’re limited in the songs you can play. In other words, you have to wait for popular tunes to come out on karaoke CDs or cassettes before you can start singing them. By this time, songs are mainly out of date and not as much fun.

The third type of karaoke is packaged as only a microphone. It comes with about three dozen songs preloaded, through you can also load MP3 downloads. While this type of home karaoke music player is more portable and is meant to be plugged into your television, there’s no mechanism for reading the lyrics. This means that your musical performance has to be just that – a performance where you already know the words to the songs.

The fourth type of karaoke player is among the hot new gadgets hitting the market. It can best be described as a cross between an iPod and a MP3 player. These specialized MP3 players allow you to buy MP3 downloads, load them into the player, and input the song lyrics. Then proprietary software allows you to remove the original voice track from the song and record your own voice over the music while reading a display of the lyrics.

This type of karaoke player is surely poised to sweep the market. It is portability is unprecedented – in essence, it is a handheld karaoke MP3 – in that you don’t need to be anywhere near a television in order to use it. It also has the advantage of being able to play any song – even top 20 Billboard hits.

Of all the karaoke music players on the market, the cutting edge MP3 karaoke player is the one to beat.

When I first started studying the history of music, I did not know what I was getting into. I had a notion that music history was somewhat of a trivial pursuit. . .

Honestly, I only followed my history of classical music course because I needed the credits. I am sure any of you out there can relate to that. I did not know how fully interesting music history could be. You see, in our culture many of us do not really study to comprehend music. For much of the world, music is a language, but for us it is a thing that we consumed passively.

When I started to study about the history of Western music, however, it changed all that for me. I have had any experience using musical instruments, but I have never mastered one enough to really comprehend what music is all about. This class showed me.

When a lot of us think about the history of music, it means the history of rock music. We presume that the history is plain because the music is plain. In fact, neither is the case. The history of music, whether you’re talking about classical music, rock music, jazz music, or any other kind, is always complex. New chord structures are set up carrying with them new forms of understanding humanity. New rhythmic patterns are established, carrying with them new methods of understanding history. And music shows all of it.

History of music nowadays is even more interesting. Even when the class was ended, I could not stop learning about the history of music. It had stimulated my appetite, and I wanted more. I acquired all the music history volumes that I could discover. I even started to examine forms of music that had not interested me before in the hopes of improving my musical knowledge further. When I was in school studying toward a very different subject – a degree in engineering – I had thought about giving it up and going back to obtain a degree in musicology. That is how much I am fascinated by the subject.

If you have never taken a course in the history of music, you don’t know what you are missing out on. You do not miss what you don’t know about in a way but then again. . . Believe me the CDs will never sound the same to you again. Actually not only the Cds but any type of media you are or will be using to play your favorite music. The whole thing will seem much more rich, much more luminous, and much more important. A new song can reflect a new way of being, and a new way of imagining existence in the world. This is what learning about the history of music means to many of us. Just try it and you will see.

Listening to music now has a whole new meaning. You can imagine all the several kinds of musical patterns there are in the world. It make your musical mind really expand.

Iphones have not been on the market all that long and already they’re becoming one of the most popular must have gadgets around. One of the questions on many Iphone owners’ lips’ is how to get music onto their Iphone. If you’re familiar with Ipods you may already know how this is done, but if not, read on to find out how to get some music on your Iphone.

In order to download music to your Iphone, there are a few things you will need-

1-A computer-age and specifications should not matter, as long as it is newer than say 6 or 7 years. You’ll also need enough free space on the computer’s hard drive.

2-An internet connection. Speed is not an issue, you will however be better off with the fastest connection you can find though, as if you are still stuck on dial up or something it can take a while to download the files you want.

3-You’ll also need the USB lead that came with the Iphone to connect it to the computer. At this stage it is not yet possible to download songs directly from the internet to the Iphone, so you will need to save them to your computer first.

The last thing is the trickiest-somewhere to download the music from!

The first thing you will need to know is to avoid the torrent sites-they are also known as P2P or peer to peer sites. Using these sites may result in you having criminal proceedings brought against you, as they’re illegal, and it can also result in your computer being damaged beyond repair by malware and trojans etc that may be embedded in your downloads.

You’ll find that there are no places where you can actually download free music for your iphone, but you will find there are a few sites which can offer the next best thing-unlimited downloads after a small one off fee. If you can find a site like this you will end up getting fantastic value for money.

The other alternative is to put your CD collection on your Iphone. This is mostly done by obtaining a “ripping” program to use on your computer-this will enable you to really “rip” the songs from CD and save them as files on your computer. Despite it is scary name, ripping the songs from a CD doesn’t affect it in any way. Once you have the songs saved on the computer, it is mostly just a case of connecting the Iphone to the computer and synchronizing the Iphone, which should then automatically transfer all the songs over to the Iphone.

Hopefully you have found this article informative and helpful when transferring music onto your Iphone.

When the music industry targeted the internet as a way of bringing music to people in all parts of the world, they probably did not consider the impact that this decision would have on so many lives. People now have the opportunity to listen to music any place they want to because online music stores sell music that can be downloaded to many listening devices.

An online music store offers customers the chance to hear live performances of their most prized artist or learn about struggling artists that are trying to kick start a career with their own brand of music. The categories of music have not changed one bit over the years, but the people that make the music become historical markers of a moment in music that might be repeated by someone else but never the same as the person who sang it originally.

People have the chance to track the history of one music artist and see how long it takes them to reach stardom. These figures will no doubt be used many times in content over the World Wide Web and serve to inspire other artists with a talent for music to try their hand at making a successful career out of something that they like to do. The fans are responsible for making a music artist a star because they are the ones that come to the internet to buy an album or a particular song off an album.

An online music store allows people to listen to music before they buy it. This is the same service that is offered in any reputable music store but the internet provides music customers with search engines that can be used to find different versions of the same song that are sung by singers from many nationalities. This truly differentiates the simplicity of buying music online to the music choices offered in a land-based music store.

Some people want to collect every album that an artist creates over the span of many years. An online music store allows customers to search for their most prized artist and get a copy of the word to every song ever written. To do this in a land-based music store might require the customer to pay additional fees. An online music store allows people to use their home computer to store files and create their own music libraries without incurring any additional fees.
