Some bands might tell you that the studio's a drag, and that its all about getting out there on the road. What utter tripe. Recording is brilliant. You get to have as many goes at playing a song right as you want, and you're free to experiment with the idea for a bassoon/frying pan solo in the instrumental break. We like making records a lot, so here is a kind of discography of what we've made so far...

Demo EP CD-R only *SOLD OUT!* (Don't Tell Clare)

We released this way back in September 2005. It was originally supposed to be just the first three songs, but we tagged on another two live tracks. The 100 'proper' copies were all completely individually handmade - down to the writing and stapling. It took forever, and we vowed never to do it again! Apparently they have changed hands on eBay now for upwards of twenty five pounds... which is just stupid. Three of the five songs featured here have since been re-recorded for other releases, but It Will Never Be Yours and Apples remain the definitive (if rather scrappy) versions.

The Orange Shop 7" single *SOLD OUT!* (Don't Tell Clare)

A year later (Sept 2006) we managed to get ourselves together to sort out a 'proper' single - a re-recorded and much improved version of 'Lenor' from the Demo EP, now renamed The Orange Shop.

It was only commercially available as a limited edition (500 copies) 7" single, and did rather better than we expected - reaching number 14 in the Festive Fifty, and being named by Marc 'Lard' Riley as his favouritest single of 2006!

It got played out on Radio 1, 6music, XFM, and zillions of local and internet radio stations across the world.

Sunday School 7" single (Cool For Cats/Fierce Panda)

Next up we released this three track 7", featuring all new songs, on the new Fierce Panda sister label Cool For Cats in May 2007. Again it got plenty of support on radio, and more press coverage this time, but it is possible we made the classic mistake of releasing the wrong track as the A-side! If I had a pound for every person that said that Humbug was their favourite track, well, I'd be able to afford a meal in a moderately priced restaurant.
